Job description

City of Rawlins Recreation Services Department is seeking applications for a Part-time Shooting Range Assistant with responsibility for the indoor and outdoor shooting ranges.  This position will work under the general supervision of the Shooting Range Supervisor and Parks & Recreation Director with significant amount of independence in completing job responsibilities.  This position involves supervision over shooters at the ranges, and responsibility for the policing of range areas.  Technical tasks relative to the administration of shooting programs.  Care, maintenance of equipment and facilities are requisite.  Working hours vary according to events and will require evenings and weekends.  Position is a permanent part-time not to exceed 20 hours per week with a salary of $19.70/hr with no benefits.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid driver's license, and successfully clear a pre-employment background check and drug screen.  Preferred skills include good knowledge of the care and handling of firearms, sporting and shooting equipment, knowledge of range and safety procedures, ability to teach the fundamentals of shooting and good judgement.  Completed firearm safety training is preferred.
