Our client is a 198-year-old manufacturer of agricultural equipment, and they are looking for a Design Engineer who will focus their activities on designing and redesigning pieces of large Ag equipment. You will report to the Engineering Manager.

What you will be doing:

· Focus on a project basis designing or redesigning feed mixers for livestock using Creo.

· Develop and evaluate product designs based on customer needs, manufacturability, cost, and safety.

· Develop design specifications in collaboration with product management, sales and marketing, manufacturing, product development teams, product/applications testing, and customers for projects assigned

· Develop test plans and direct testing of the design with test personnel.

· Set product quality and tolerance specifications for designs.

· Design and/or select hydraulic, power transmission, and structural components.

· Work with manufacturing to develop tooling and new manufacturing processes as assigned.

· Develop a high level of knowledge of company’s products by attending trade shows, initiating customer contacts, understanding customer service requirements, and monitoring competitors.

· Keep abreast of new products, technologies, and competitive equipment in the industry and communicate information to company personnel.

What they are looking for:

· BS Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering

· 1+ year of experience designing agricultural or heavy mobile equipment, internship experience will count

· Good 3D CAD skills, they use Creo

· Knowledge of metal fabrication, machining, and welding would be very helpful

· A farm background would be wonderful
