Waste Control, a Waste Connections Company out of Longview, Washington. Is Hiring for a Outbound Scale Attendant Cashier.
Full-Time | Schedule will be (4 Days on, 3 Days off, 3 Days on, 4 Days off Every other Wednesday through Saturday). Starting at 6:45 AM-6:15 PM

Position Overview
Waste Control, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a reliable, customer-focused Outbound Scale Attendant to support daily operations at our Longview Transfer Station. This role is essential to ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient outbound traffic flow while delivering excellent service to our community.
You will greet customers, process outbound weights, handle payments, complete closing duties, and maintain a clean, safe scale house environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, comfort working outdoors, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Greeting - Provide courteous outbound service to all customers leaving the Transfer Station.
  • Cash Drawer Reconciliation - Complete nightly closing duties, balance cashier drawers, and reconcile POS/credit card systems.
  • Vehicle Weigh-Out - Weigh outbound vehicles, calculate fees based on disposed materials, and ensure accurate payment processing.
  • Data Tracking - Record weight information in the computer system and obtain required signatures.
  • Load Safety Verification - Ensure outgoing loads are safe and free of prohibited materials.
  • Outdoor Work - Stand and work outside for the majority of the shift.
  • Phone & Office Support - Answer phones professionally and perform general clerical duties, filing, and paperwork.
  • Safety Compliance - Ensure customers and employees follow all safety rules and wear required PPE.
  • Scale House Upkeep - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the scale house.
  • Team Collaboration - Work effectively with others using tact, discretion, and professionalism.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior cash/debit handling experience
  • Strong customer service and multitasking abilities
  • Computer proficiency, including 10-key data entry
  • Ability to stand for an entire shift and work outdoors in all weather
  • Ability to climb, bend, and stoop for container inspections
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred
