Description
Position Summary
To provide direction and supervise dock activities and personnel. Ensure the safe and expedient loading, unloading and movement of material, preventative maintenance check on equipment, and accomplish any other tasks as directed by the Manager, Transportation or Assistant Manager, Transportation.
Essential Duties
(Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.)
1. Coordinate the loading and off-loading of trailers, pre-sort and transfer material from the dock to designated departments, safely and efficiently.
2. Maintain accurate documentation and oversight of outbound shipments.
3. Provide excellent customer service to external and internal customers.
4. Seek process efficiencies and provide timely feedback to leadership.
5. Provide trailer movement as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The associate in this position has supervisory responsibility for designated associates in their department.
Education/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance
• High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience.
• 3 Years' experience in a related field required.
• No professional certifications are required for this position.
• Valid state driver's license, insurance and satisfactory driving record are required.
• The associate in this position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Safety Statement

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Work Conditions
• The associate is required to lift 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
• The associate works in an environment with frequent exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
• The associate must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate.
