Job Description:
We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Assistant Sales Manager to join our dealership team. In this role, you will assist the Sales Manager in daily operations, mentor junior sales personnel, and ensure great customer experience. The ideal candidate has strong negotiation skills, retail math proficiency, and a proven track record of closing deals.  Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Be to work early every day and set the example for the sales team Run morning meetings as assigned Teach sales process, fact finding, walk-arounds, phone skills, and overcoming objections Hire, train, and motivate sales staff Conduct one-on-one coaching with team members who are not pacing toward goals Monitor employee calls, habits, and performance to help team members succeed Hold team members accountable for daily responsibilities and monthly goals Ensure all team members complete required tasks before checkout Sales Operations Walk the lot following morning meetings to ensure inventory is properly presented Complete daily workplan by contacting guests after morning and afternoon meetings Ensure all guests are turned to a manager before leaving the dealership Participate in manager turns and lot coverage as required Promote proactive management involvement throughout the sales process CRM & Performance Management Review VinSolutions daily and ensure information is accurate and current Ensure daily written logs match VinSolutions Dashboard activity before closing Make a minimum of 20 outbound calls per day using click-to-call Require written and visible monthly sales goals for all team members Monitor team performance and maintain accountability standards Communication & Collaboration Brainstorm and collaborate with sales team members Encourage idea sharing and open communication Discuss process changes with Sales Manager and General Sales Manager before implementation Support dealership management decisions and maintain consistent leadership messaging Facility & Department Standards Ensure dealership lot conditions meet company standards Make sure all holes on perimeter of lot are filled before leaving Help maintain a professional sales environment    
Job Requirement:Qualifications Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of automotive retail sales experience, with at least 1–2 years in automotive sales management. Skills: Strong inventory control, market analysis, CRM proficiency, and retail math skills. Ability to step in and train others on closing techniques. Licensing: Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record. State Salesperson License may be required. Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
