Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Objective of this position is to learn and become proficient in performing the responsibilities; of troubleshooting, problem solving, preventative maintenance, service, and repair of machine tools.  Incumbent performs all job functions in a high quality, efficient and timely manner.  Incumbent works as a member of a team and assists team members as required and makes recommendations to supervisor on process improvements. This position is considered a Safety Sensitive position.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work towards completing the apprentice level training or vendor certification program at or above expected proficiency.
  • Participates in "On the Job Training" including Installations, showroom preparation, repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance as required by the training program.
  • Incumbent ensures high quality levels/standards in all work performed and follows all safety procedures and requirements. 
  • Works with internal team members on proper installation, service/repair procedures for current and new equipment/machines and processes.
  • Communicating as needed by our customers to include notification of arrival, progress updates, and checking out upon leaving the customer site.
  • Consults with other team members, internal departments and/or external vendors to resolve issues related to installation and service/repair.
  • Accurately documents, completes and reports required information for work records and reports.
  • Responsible for maintaining current technical, interpersonal, and communication skills through continuous development. 
  • Responsible for the cleanliness, care, and upkeep of all company property.
  • Based on business need, assists, supports and/or performs other job functions within department or other work areas within scope and ability.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a 2-year technical degree in the related fields of study:  Electronic, Electrical, Electro/Mechanical, CNC Technology, or a minimum of a High School Degree/Vocational Machining Training and 2 years experience in the troubleshooting, installation, and repair of Machine Tools Products or Maintenance Repair.
  • A valid Drivers License, a good driving record, and the ability to “legally” operate a company “Service” vehicle or personal vehicle for company business.  Company vehicles are assigned at the conclusion of training period.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Passport.  Must be able to travel in support of training, out-of-state or out-of-country customers, and assist other divisions as required to support business demand.   
  • Demonstrated commitment of customer satisfaction.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional conduct when dealing with customers, peers, builder representatives and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated professional appearance, self-starter and effective planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to participate as a member of a team, crossing department and divisional lines.
  • Ability to use PC and job-related software/programs for programming, documentation/record keeping.
  • Physical demands; bending, stooping, standing, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Must work in sometimes wet, greasy, and dirty environment.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and evening hours as required by assigned task or customer demands.

Working Conditions:  

Manufacturing work environment which includes moving and lifting mechanical machine components, potentially loud, and dirty equipment, with exposure to a variety of non-hazardous and hazardous chemicals and airborne particles. Job requires hands on work with machine tools and associated equipment.
