The Role?

OUAI is seeking a social media content creator that will be responsible for capturing engaging content that helps drive awareness and brand love for OUAI and its products. This role will have a strong emphasis on video to use across platforms along with TikTok dedicated content but will also include lo-fi stills. Youโ€™ll work with the social team to deliver on cross-functional goals while adhering to OUAIs creative and marketing, driving the creation of effective content that achieves business objectives and channel needs.

Requirements

What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • Conceptualise and create engaging and original short-form content for TikTok and Instagram that aligns with the brand's DNA, voice, and objectives
  • Stay ahead of TikTok, social media, and internet trends, challenges, and cultural moments to implement relevant and timely content into the social strategy
  • Collaborate closely with our social team to stay up-to-date on social editorial calendar and understand campaign goals and messaging, translating them into visual narratives
  • Execute end-to-end video production, including shooting, arranging, making selects, editing or drafting editor briefs, and sound design/direction to deliver high quality content that drives awareness and engagement
  • Shoot content in our office, on set, and on location on a weekly basis
  • Partner with cross-functional team in order to execute content, e.g. Product Development on packaging BTS or Product Edu for application videos
  • Experiment with different video styles, techniques, and formats to keep content fresh and appealing to diverse audiences
  • Analyze content performance metrics, insights and adapt content strategies to drive engagement and growth

What Youโ€™ll Bring:

  • 2+ years of experience in social media content creation, with a strong emphasis on TikTok and video content
  • This position requires regular in-office presence (2-3 times per week) in Los Angeles
  • We arenโ€™t afraid to go firstโ€“OUAI is a social-first lifestyle brand that aims to break the mold beyond traditional hair care content. We expect youโ€™ll bring fresh ideas that keep OUAI at the forefront of experimental and engaging content
  • Proven track record of social content creation, with an emphasis on TikTok and video content
  • Comfort with appearing on camera and BTS in social content
  • Strong visual and storytelling skills, with an eye for detail and a knack for capturing attention quickly
  • A firm grasp on what makes a piece of content successful, including tailoring POV for new audiences, engaging with our existing community, and best practices like cover photos, onscreen text, and video length
  • Ability to leverage third party editing apps in content creation

  • Hourly Compensation $30-$35/hour
  • Candidates are required to be available to work onsite at our Los Angeles headquarters office 2-3 times per week.
  • This freelance, part-time position does not qualify for full-time benefits.
