Job Description

This role is based at the NBCU Local Philadelphia, serving NBC10 and Telemundo 62. This duopoly role will oversee the programming and production of content for all the NBC Local Philadelphia platforms. Those platforms include but are not limited to linear, Digital, OTT, FAST Channel, audio, etc. This person will also manage a staff of multiplatform content producers and report to the VP of News.

The Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the day-to-day television programming operation for multiple platforms and all FAST Channel OTT opportunities
  • Actively partner with the VP of News to create a three-screen synergy (TV, digital, mobile) around station content
  • Work closely with NBC Sports Philadelphia in developing content for streaming channels
  • Lead our content teams to develop workflows that deliver our content 24/7 across current and future platforms with storytelling that is optimized for each screen
  • Lead the content team in identifying new content types and innovative technologies that help us reach and serve new audiences
  • Clearly communicate vision to a team of writers, anchors, and field crews to deliver dynamic and accurate stories and segments.
  • Develop an understanding of our streaming and non-linear products and consistently contribute to them
  • Work collaboratively with other departments for cross-promotion opportunities and strategy.
  • Promote inclusive journalism on all platforms
  • Analyze and actively use data and metrics to make informed editorial and strategic decisions and to create accountability for results
  • Coach and mentor, our content teams in best practices for writing and producing content for digital and social platforms
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum five years’ experience in content development and production
