What is an OTR manager?

An OTR (Over-the-Road) Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations and logistics of long-haul trucking routes for a transportation company. They manage drivers, coordinate schedules, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and optimize route efficiency to meet company goals. OTR Managers also handle customer service issues, monitor fleet performance, and address any problems that arise during transit. Their role is crucial in ensuring that goods are delivered on time and that drivers adhere to company policies and federal regulations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an OTR manager?

To thrive as an OTR Manager, you need expertise in logistics management, route planning, regulatory compliance, and a background in transportation or supply chain, often supported by a relevant degree or certification.
