OTR (Over-the-Road) drivers often encounter challenges such as long hours away from home, unpredictable weather, and tight delivery schedules. New hires can manage these by planning rest stops in advance, maintaining open communication with dispatchers, and practicing safe driving habits. Building a routine that balances work and rest is key, and leveraging technology like GPS and route-planning apps can help navigate unexpected issues on the road. Many companies also offer mentorship programs or peer support, which can be valuable resources for new drivers adjusting to the demands of the role.

How much do OTR drivers typically earn?

OTR (Over-the-Road) drivers typically earn between $45,000 and $75,000 annually, with experienced drivers and those with specialized skills earning higher wages. Compensation often includes base pay, bonuses, and benefits, and may vary based on experience, routes, and company policies.
