Program Director Job Description

Position: Program Director

Location: Ironton, OH

Reports to: Director of Clinical Programming

Job Summary:

The Program Director will report directly to the Director of Clinical Programming and be responsible for leading and coordinating the implementation, evaluation, and growth of programs within the designated region. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in program management, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a passion for making a positive impact in the community and a record of successfully managing complex programs.

Job Duties:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for program development, expansion, and sustainability within the region, in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Oversee operations of programs, including budget management, resource allocation, and performance monitoring to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead a team of program managers and staff, providing direction, support, and mentorship to achieve program goals and deliver high-quality services to individuals served.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to build and maintain strong relationships and advocate for program priorities.
  • Monitor program outcomes, collect and analyze data, prepare reports to measure program impact, identify areas for improvement, and communicate results to the Director of Clinical Programming.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, guidelines, and organizational policies and procedures across all programs within the region.
  • Lead program evaluation efforts, including conducting needs assessments, performance evaluations, and program reviews to inform decisionโ€‘making and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate programmatic activities, events, and initiatives, including learning and development sessions and community outreach efforts to promote program awareness and engagement.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging issues related to the programs and services provided and incorporate relevant innovations into program design and delivery.
  • Represent The PHOENIX Centers at regional meetings, conferences, and events, serving as a spokesperson and advocate for the organizationโ€™s mission and impact.
Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in social sciences, public administration, or a businessโ€‘related field Preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, including supervisory experience and oversight of multiple programs or initiatives.
  • Hold an active, unencumbered license from the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board or The Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Board of the following: LSW, LISW, LISWโ€‘S, LPC, LPCC, LPCCโ€‘S, LICDC, LICDCโ€‘CS (Preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and motivate teams and foster collaboration.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic plans, managing budgets, and achieving program goals and outcomes.
  • Experience working in government agencies, or communityโ€‘based organizations, with a focus on social services, healthcare, education, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of program evaluation methods, data analysis, and performance measurement tools.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fastโ€‘paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, and data management systems and KPI
