An Osteopathic Doctor (DO) is a fully licensed physician who practices medicine with a holistic approach, emphasizing the body's ability to heal itself. They diagnose, treat, and prevent illnesses using conventional medical techniques, as well as osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) to address musculoskeletal issues. DOs can specialize in any medical field, including primary care, surgery, and pediatrics. They focus on treating the whole person rather than just symptoms, considering lifestyle, environment, and overall well-being.

Osteopathic Doctors (DOs) require a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, completion of a residency program, and a state medical license, along with expertise in diagnosing and treating illnesses through both traditional and osteopathic methods. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs), diagnostic tools, and osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) techniques is essential. Exceptional interpersonal skills, holistic thinking, and adaptability help DOs build strong patient relationships and address comprehensive health needs. These qualifications and skills are vital for delivering effective, patient-centered care that integrates both medical and osteopathic approaches.

Administrative tasks, charting in electronic medical records, and staying current with industry research are also common responsibilities.
