Telecom Design • AutoCAD • Revit MEP • TIA • NEC • OSP to In-Building Systems
Pay: $38.00- $53.00 per hour DOE
We're looking for a Telecommunications Systems Engineer to lead portions of large, complex facility design projects as a telecom scope owner. You'll work alongside telecom design professionals, architects, and multi-discipline engineers to produce fully coordinated 3D BIM deliverables - covering everything from Outside Plant (OSP) to inter/intra-building backbone distribution, communication room layouts, rack elevations, wired and wireless device plans, and cable schedules. You'll interface directly with clients to ensure their facilities meet their needs.
What you'll do
  • Lead telecom design scope on large, complex projects - coordinating with architects and multi-discipline engineering teams
  • Produce 3D BIM models, construction specifications, and 2D sheets using AutoCAD and Revit MEP across all design disciplines
  • Design OSP systems, backbone distribution, communication room layouts, rack elevations, wired/wireless device plans, and cable schedules
  • Ensure all designs meet NEC, TIA standards, and client/internal specifications
  • Interface directly with client counterparts to understand and fulfill facility design requirements
  • Estimate and schedule small to medium size projects

What you need
  • Two-year technical degree or four-year non-technical degree
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in telecommunications design and construction
  • Knowledge and application of TIA standards, BICSI design practices, and NFPA 70 (NEC)
  • Experience leading a telecommunications design team
  • Knowledge of design and construction specifications
  • Experience estimating and scheduling small to medium size projects

Nice to have
  • 3+ years of telecom design experience in semiconductor or data center environments
  • Working knowledge of Revit MEP or other 3D BIM software
  • Experience with paging, intercom, audio-visual, or control systems design
  • Project management experience
  • Industry certification - RCDD, DCDC, OSP, or RTPM
