Job Summary
We are seeking a Mainframe Administrator to manage and support enterprise mainframe infrastructure, with a focus on IBM z/OS systems. This role involves installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and upgrades of mainframe environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in mainframe administration and the ability to collaborate across infrastructure teams to resolve complex system issues.
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and manage IBM z/OS operating systems and mainframe infrastructure
  • Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of z/OS environments
  • Support system sustainment activities, including version upgrades and platform enhancements
  • Ensure system security and compliance using mainframe security protocols and tools
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional infrastructure teams to resolve interdependent system challenges
  • Manage and support core mainframe components and subsystems
  • Participate in system initialization (IPL), configuration changes, and operational support
  • Maintain documentation and adhere to enterprise standards and best practices

Required Qualifications
  • Strong experience as a Mainframe System Administrator or Infrastructure Engineer
  • In-depth knowledge of IBM z/OS operating systems and mainframe architecture
  • Experience with z/OS installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades
  • Strong expertise in mainframe security and compliance, including tools such as Top Secret (TSS)
  • Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and system issues
  • Knowledge of mainframe subsystems and tools such as CICS, DB2, MQ, ChangeMan, Endevor, Easytrieve, and related components
  • Experience with system initialization processes and operational support
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprise mainframe environments
  • Familiarity with additional mainframe tools and platforms such as Systemware, ESP, or Content management systems
  • Experience collaborating across multiple infrastructure and platform teams
