  • Experience: Experienced APPs and new graduates with a strong interest in orthopedic trauma are welcome

We are seeking an Orthopedic Trauma Surgery APP to join our collaborative and experienced team at Holmes Regional Medical Center. This is an excellent opportunity for an APP interested in orthopedic trauma, fracture care, hospital-based medicine, surgical care, and postoperative management.

Whether you're an experienced APP or a new graduate looking to build a strong foundation in orthopedic trauma, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced orthopedic surgeons and APPs with ongoing mentorship and meaningful hands-on clinical exposure.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate and manage new orthopedic patients referred from the Emergency Department

  • Perform inpatient rounds and new inpatient orthopedic consultations

  • Evaluate and manage orthopedic trauma and fracture patients

  • Participate in orthopedic trauma surgical cases and gain valuable OR exposure

  • Provide postoperative evaluation and follow-up care

  • Manage fractures and complex orthopedic conditions

  • Coordinate orthopedic trauma care across inpatient and outpatient settings

  • Provide a clinic component focused on orthopedic trauma and postoperative follow-up

  • Collaborate closely with multiple orthopedic trauma surgeons and APPs

  • Participate in a rotating call schedule

  • Potential opportunity to pick up additional shifts

Patient Volume & Surgical Exposure

The APP will see approximately 30-35 patients per day with a diverse patient mix, including:

  • Acute orthopedic trauma

  • Fractures and fracture follow-up

  • Postoperative patients

  • Complex orthopedic conditions

  • Inpatient consultations

  • Emergency Department referrals

The role offers a unique combination of inpatient, ED, OR, consultation, and outpatient/clinic responsibilities, allowing you to follow patients throughout the orthopedic trauma continuum of care.

Clinical Scope

You'll be involved in the evaluation and management of orthopedic trauma patients from initial presentation through postoperative recovery, including:

  • Acute orthopedic trauma evaluation

  • Fracture management

  • Inpatient consultations and rounds

  • Surgical and perioperative care

  • Postoperative management

  • Trauma follow-up

  • Diagnosis and treatment of complex orthopedic conditions

  • Coordination of ongoing orthopedic trauma care

  • Outpatient and postoperative follow-up
