The Role:
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to be our HR site leader of our Angola Indiana facility providing key support and leadership in a fast-paced CNC machining and precision manufacturing operation.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment, and be comfortable supporting a 24/7 operation.
This role requires a hands-on HR professional who thrives on the production floor, builds strong relationships with employees and leaders, and is experienced working in a non-union environment.
The HR Generalist will partner with operations leadership to support recruiting, employee relations, performance management, compliance, onboarding, training, benefits administration, and employee engagement initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Partner with manufacturing leaders to provide day-to-day HR support across all shifts.
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard hourly and salaried employees for machining and manufacturing positions.
  • Support staffing needs for a 24-hour operation, including occasional flexibility to meet with second and third shift employees.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to supervisors and managers on employee relations, coaching, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Administer performance management processes and assist with employee development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate leave administration, benefits enrollment, and workers' compensation claims.
  • Assist with wage and salary administration and support compensation initiatives.
  • Conduct investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Develop and facilitate employee orientation and training programs.
  • Promote employee engagement, retention, and recognition programs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Assist with policy development and implementation.
  • Prepare HR reports and analyze workforce metrics to support business decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 6 years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
  • Previous HR experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting CNC machining, metal fabrication, or industrial production.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience handling employee relations investigations and conflict resolution.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build credibility and relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience supporting high-volume hourly recruiting.
  • Familiarity with payroll processes and timekeeping systems.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environments.
  • Experience supporting a 24-hour manufacturing operation with multiple shifts.
  • Demonstrated success working in a non-union manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing facility with exposure to production areas, machinery.
