Job description

Orthodontic Assistant - Private Orthodontic Practice (Cypress, TX)
Candid Smiles Orthodontics is a privately owned, family-style orthodontic practice looking for a dedicated Orthodontic Assistant to join our growing team. If you take pride in patient care, enjoy working chairside, and want to be part of a close-knit practice rather than a large corporate group, we would love to hear from you.
About Candid Smiles Orthodontics:
We are a single-doctor, privately owned practice with a genuine family feel. We are small, close-knit, and growing thoughtfully. Our patients are treated like people, not numbers - and our team is treated the same way. We pair that family-practice character with modern, up-to-date technology so our team can do their best work and our patients get an excellent experience.
About the Role:
As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will work chairside alongside the doctor to support patients through every stage of their orthodontic treatment. You will help deliver a smooth, comfortable, and positive experience from the first appointment through the final reveal.
What You Will Do:
  • Provide chairside assistance during orthodontic procedures, including the placement and removal of brackets, bands, wires, and appliances.
  • Take and process digital scans, photographs, and diagnostic records.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials, and maintain a clean, sterile clinical environment.
  • Educate and guide patients on appliance care, oral hygiene, and what to expect at each stage of treatment.
  • Support the doctor and team with patient flow, scheduling handoffs, and clinical documentation in our practice-management software.
  • Help create a warm, reassuring experience for patients of all ages.

What We Are Looking For:
Required:
  • A caring, dependable, team-oriented attitude.
  • Strong communication skills and genuine comfort working with patients.
  • Ability to stay organized and calm in a busy clinical setting.
Preferred:
  • Prior orthodontic or dental assisting experience.
  • Familiarity with digital scanning and dental imaging.
  • Current radiology certification and BLS/CPR (or willingness to obtain).
  • Bilingual is a plus.
We are happy to train the right person who brings the right attitude.
Schedule: Full-time or part-time. Saturdays are required. Specific days and hours discussed at the interview.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly compensation.
  • Competitive benefits package.
  • Specific details discussed at the in-person interview.

How to Apply:
Please submit your resume through this listing. We review every application and look forward to meeting candidates who share our commitment to excellent, compassionate care.
Candid Smiles Orthodontics is an equal opportunity employer. Employment is at-will.
