Job description

RQ Construction is looking for a Construction Assistant Superintendent to join our Field Operations team supporting projects on a military base in the Jacksonville, Florida region.

The Assistant Superintendent works closely with the project Superintendent to oversee daily field operations and help keep projects running smoothly from start to finish. This role assists with coordinating subcontractors, managing on-site construction activities, monitoring schedules, and ensuring all work is performed safely and in compliance with project plans, specifications, and contract requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and committed to maintaining quality standards while supporting overall project performance and company values.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000 annually, depending on experience

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education in construction management, engineering, or related disciplines preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience serving as a Lead Foreman or above on medium to large-scale construction projects, 3+ years as an Assistant Superintendent on federal, military, or government construction projects is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with project scheduling, field supervision, material procurement, quality assurance, production tracking, and job-site safety
  • Experience in design-build construction environments is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard computer applications
  • Experience using construction management software such as Primavera P3/P6, Viewpoint, BIM, or Revit is a plus
  • CPR, First Aid, OSHA 30, EM-385, and STS certifications required; (training can be provided)
  • LEED Green Associate certification is a plus
