Job description

The Role
Reporting directly to the Director of Premium, the Catering Supervisor position is responsible to oversee set-up and clean-up for all banquet functions to provide guests with the best possible service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for client(s) on event day
  • Lead pre-shift meetings with staff, covering event details, timelines, and expectations
  • Ensure staff are in proper uniform and maintain a professional appearance
  • Manage and support team members, problem-solve in real time, and perform well under pressure
  • Oversee inventory of equipment, small wares, disposables, and beverages
  • Read and interpret Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), identifying equipment needs, logistical challenges, and coordinating with the culinary team
  • Track staff meal periods and delegate clear, concise instructions to team members
  • Supervise food and beverage service, including event setup and breakdown
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing all event functions
  • Oversee general cleaning tasks to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
  • Communicate with Facilities, Catering, and Culinary teams regarding any last-minute updates or changes
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Catering Management

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
  • Ability to perform under pressure effectively for extensive periods of time while maintaining professionalism.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards.
  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware and menu items.
  • Must be able to read, speak and write English Language in order to communicate with guests.
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds.
  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including: constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time.
  • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Required Certifications:

  • CA Food Handlers Certification
  • CA Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification

Compensation: $23.00 - $25.50
