Hispanic Constituency Organizer

Florida Democratic Party

Fort Lauderdale, FL • On-site

Full-time

Posted 28 days ago

Job description

Florida families are paying more for housing, insurance, groceries, and gas than ever before. Access to a quality education has been gutted while Republicans play politics with our schools. It's imperative that we elect leaders who will fight to right the course.

Florida is at an inflection point. After years of being written off nationally, Florida Democrats are running ahead of the national environment. We've flipped 30 seats from red to blue since 2024, and we have a real opening to win up and down the ballot this November. We're not wasting it.

This position will be based in South Florida, with goals centered on engaging Hispanic voters through community-based organizing, volunteer recruitment, and Vote-by-Mail enrollment in priority communities. The Hispanic Constituency Organizer will lead the development and execution of Hispanic voter engagement strategies by identifying meaningful opportunities to organize within Hispanic communities, coordinating regional organizing efforts around those opportunities, and supporting Hispanic voter programming statewide.

The Hispanic Constituency Organizer will join our growing organizing team and serve as the statewide lead for Hispanic constituency organizing. This role is responsible for developing community engagement strategies, coordinating organizing efforts around key cultural and civic events, building volunteer leadership pipelines, and ensuring Hispanic voter engagement programs are scalable and sustainable. This position reports to the Statewide Field Director and works in close partnership with Regional Field Organizers, local Democratic organizations, constituency leaders, and the FDP Data Department.

Schedule Expectations

* This is a high-intensity, elections-focused organizing role with a schedule driven by field operations, community engagement opportunities, and voter contact needs.
* Applicants should expect the schedule to become more demanding as elections approach, with significantly extended working hours during peak periods.
* Because this position is responsible for volunteer management and community engagement, regular evening and weekend work is required throughout the year.
* This role is best suited for candidates who are able to fully commit to a nontraditional, campaign-style schedule and understand the time demands required to build and lead large-scale volunteer organizing programs.
* Support additional projects and organizing priorities as assigned.

Essential Functions

**Community Organizing Strategy**

* Develop and maintain a strategic calendar of community events, cultural celebrations, faith-based gatherings, civic events, and other opportunities to engage Hispanic voters across Florida and support statewide Hispanic voter engagement efforts.
* Identify opportunities to build long-term organizing relationships within Hispanic communities and develop organizing plans that convert community engagement into sustained volunteer recruitment and voter contact.

**Event Planning and Logistics**

* Plan and coordinate organizing activities surrounding community events, including securing event participation, coordinating staffing, preparing materials, managing volunteer assignments, and ensuring successful execution.
* Design organizing programs that extend beyond event attendance by coordinating canvasses, phonebanks, volunteer trainings, and other follow-up activities that maximize voter engagement.

**Cross-Regional Organizing Coordination**

* Partner closely with Regional Field Organizers to integrate Hispanic voter engagement into regional organizing plans.
* Coordinate volunteer deployment across regions for major community events and ensure organizers and volunteers are strategically assigned to maximize impact.

**Volunteer Recruitment and Leadership Development**

* Recruit, train, manage, and retain volunteers while developing leadership pathways that empower volunteers to take on increasing responsibility within the organizing program.
* Coach volunteers and assigned staff to effectively recruit volunteers, conduct voter contact, and lead organizing activities within their communities.

**Community Partnerships**

* Build and maintain strong relationships with Democratic Executive Committees, Democratic Clubs, Caucuses, faith leaders, community organizations, and other trusted partners serving Hispanic communities.
* Serve as a trusted organizing resource by supporting local partners in building sustainable volunteer programs and expanding voter engagement capacity.

**Direct Voter Contact**

* Personally conduct regular phone banking, canvassing, relational organizing, and volunteer recruitment to model best practices and support regional organizing goals.
* Ensure Hispanic voter engagement efforts contribute meaningfully to Vote-by-Mail enrollment and broader voter contact objectives.

**Program Performance and Accountability**

* Monitor organizing performance using FDP dashboards and reporting tools.
* Maintain accurate data, evaluate program effectiveness, identify challenges, and implement solutions to improve volunteer engagement and voter contact outcomes.
* Regularly report on organizing progress, community engagement opportunities, and program outcomes while recommending adjustments to strengthen Hispanic voter outreach statewide.

This is an election position lasting through November, 2026. Compensation for the position will be $4,800/month plus health insurance benefits.

Must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder, per FEC regulations

The Florida Democratic Party is committed to diversity among its staff, and recognizes that its continued success requires the highest commitment to obtaining and retaining a diverse staff that provides the best quality services to supporters and constituents.
