Job description

If you are a Business Development Manager professional looking for an opportunity to grow your career, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you in the Greater Houston Area. In this role, you will drive growth for DeltaVโ„ข SaaS SCADA solutions by developing new business opportunities, expanding relationships with existing customers, and delivering value-driven technology solutions. Working collaboratively across multiple functions, you will help customers address operational challenges, improve business outcomes, and accelerate their digital transformation journeys within industrial and energy markets throughout the region.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL:
  • Drive revenue growth through the sale of DeltaV SaaS SCADA solutions and related services across assigned and prospective accounts.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle, including lead generation, prospecting, customer engagement, solution development, proposal creation, contract negotiation, and successful deal closure.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline data, account plans, and performance metrics within a CRM environment.
  • Deliver compelling presentations and business reviews to stakeholders at all organizational levels, from technical users to executive decision-makers.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Inside Sales, Technical Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product Management, Customer Success, Operations, and Technical Development, to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, industry associations, and key stakeholders to identify new opportunities and support long-term growth.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of products and emerging market trends for DeltaV SaaS SCADA technologies, industrial automation environments, and system architectures.
  • Gather and leverage competitive intelligence and market insights to identify growth opportunities and support strategic sales initiatives.
  • Establish trusted advisor relationships with customers, channel partners, and internal stakeholders by understanding business objectives and delivering value-based recommendations.
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer operations and business challenges to position solutions that enhance performance, efficiency, and return on investment.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or similar fields
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, consultative sales, account management, or a related customer-facing role.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting or selling software, SaaS, digital technologies, or related solutions.
  • Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) platforms to manage sales activities and customer engagement.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across multiple levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and business objectives in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%.

  • Experience developing and executing business development, account growth, or market expansion strategies.
  • Understanding of strategic planning, business operations, and go-to-market initiatives.
  • Professional training or certifications in sales, business development, account management, or related disciplines.
  • Experience presenting business and technical value propositions to senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
