Why You Will Love This Organization
Our client is a well-established consumer products organization that has undergone a significant business transformation and is investing in the future of its people, culture, and organizational effectiveness. As the company continues to evolve from a manufacturing-focused business to one driven by innovation, creativity, and product development, it is building modern people practices that will support continued growth across North America and beyond.
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative HR team where your expertise will be valued, your ideas welcomed, and your work will have a visible impact across the organization. The Impact You Will Have
As the People & Organizational Development Manager, you will help shape the organization's people strategy by strengthening organizational effectiveness, enhancing leadership capability, and modernizing HR processes. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders while leading initiatives that improve workforce planning, performance management, employee experience, and organizational design.
This is a newly created position that combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, providing the opportunity to build programs from the ground up and influence the future direction of the organization.
What You Will Do
  • Partner with business leaders to strengthen organizational effectiveness and support business strategy.
  • Lead organizational design, workforce planning, job architecture, and role clarity initiatives.
  • Develop, review, and enhance job descriptions and organizational structures.
  • Coach leaders on employee relations, performance management, organizational change, and talent planning.
  • Own and continuously improve the organization's performance management framework.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance employee experience and leadership effectiveness.
  • Support the implementation of a new HRIS while improving HR processes through automation and standardization.
  • Modernize recruitment processes and build scalable approaches to talent acquisition.
  • Lead strategic HR and organizational development projects from planning through successful implementation.
  • Collaborate closely with HR colleagues to build consistent, effective, and scalable people practices.
What You Will Bring
  • 7-10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including Organizational Development and HR Business Partnering.
  • Demonstrated experience in organizational design, workforce planning, and change management.
  • Strong ability to coach and influence leaders at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Experience supporting corporate functions in manufacturing, distribution, or consumer products environments.
  • Proven success leading projects from concept through implementation.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project management and continuous improvement mindset.
  • High degree of ownership, accountability, curiosity, and strategic thinking.
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods is considered an asset.
  • CHRL designation is strongly preferred; candidates actively pursuing their designation will also be considered.
Work Environment
  • Hybrid work model based in Toronto's Liberty Village.
  • HR team members typically work in the office approximately 2-3 days per week, with Wednesday serving as the primary in-office collaboration day.
  • Flexible hybrid environment that supports work-life balance while encouraging collaboration and connection.

USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE – BY RECRUITERS & HIRING MANAGERS
At The Talent Company, people are at the centre of our recruitment process. While we may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools for limited administrative purposes (such as writing creative outreach messages, summarizing interview notes or transcribing reference checks), AI is never the decision maker. Resumes and candidate information are personally reviewed by our recruiters, and all hiring decisions are made by people who bring judgment, care, and expertise to each match.
If a client's recruitment process involves a greater degree of AI use during their own interviews or assessments, we will communicate that to short-listed candidates so they are aware in advance. Our commitment is to use technology responsibly while ensuring fairness, transparency, and respect at every stage of the process.
USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE – BY CANDIDATES
We recognize that candidates may choose to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support their job search, for example to refine writing style or gather research. While this can be appropriate, the information you provide in your resume, screening questions, and interviews must always be truthful and accurately reflect your own experience, knowledge, and competencies.
AI should never be used to create or exaggerate credentials. Our goal is to understand the real you—your skills, your story, and your potential—so that we can make the best possible match between you and the organizations we serve.
ACCOMMODATION & INCLUSIVITY
At The Talent Company, we recognize the value of different perspectives and experiences in prompting innovation, sparking creativity, and solving problems. As an equal employment opportunity organization, we do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment based on race, Aboriginal peoples, members of visible minorities, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, persons with disabilities, and all other categories protected by law.
We are committed to Equal Opportunities and welcome applications from all sections of the community. Please let us know by emailing lauren.maharaj@thetalent.co if an adjustment or adaptation is required at any stage to support you during the recruitment journey.
