Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of DUDA, established in 2006 to manage the company's legacy fresh produce operations. Capitalizing on a tradition begun in 1926 of growing healthy fresh fruits and vegetables, Duda Farm Fresh Foods offers year-round availability of a wide range of products packed under the Dandyยฎ brand. A full-service grower, packer, shipper, marketer, importer and exporter of farm fresh fruits and vegetables and fresh-cut vegetables, its operations are geographically diversified. The Florida-based corporation has production and shipping operations in Florida, California, Arizona, Michigan and Georgia with additional domestic and international locations.
Duda Farm Fresh Foods is seeking a Supervisor - Organic Crop Production to provide supervision of farm production crews performing irrigation, land preparation (including bedding and the laying of plastic mulch), transplanting, application of crop protection materials, fertilization, and cultivation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily land preparation and transplanting activities ensuring that weekly schedules are met; oversee production crews to ensure the accurate application of fertilizers and crop protectant materials.
  • Maintain appropriate soil moisture levels in crops using drip irrigation, diesel box pumps, seepage irrigation systems, and overhead irrigation. Fulfill rain call and rain event responsibilities.
  • Perform maintenance on drip irrigation stations and production equipment for all operations and report necessary equipment defects to shop personnel.
  • Process Material Application System tickets for inventory control and company records and submit paperwork including payrolls, crop records, material inventories, crop reports, budgets, and safety records.
  • Participate in all variety and production trials and assist in gathering trial data at the time of harvest.
  • Help ensure that all applicable requirements for safety, food safety, and organic certification programs are met.
  • Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support business objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in Agriculture Supervision
  • Basic computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • English required; bilingual Spanish preferred
  • Valid driver's license
Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
  • Regular bending, standing, and walking
  • Field work required in all p[possible conditions
  • Overnight travel to other locations may be required
