The Transplant Franchise is a strategic growth driver within Sanofi's General Medicines innovative portfolio, spanning two complementary therapeutic areas: Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) and Solid Organ Transplant (SOT). Sanofi has established a strong position in the HSCT space with Rezurock™, approved in over 20 countries including the US, China, and the EU. Our transplant business also includes Thymoglobulin, a well-established anti-thymocyte globulin therapy, alongside a promising pipeline in later-stage development with potential launches in the coming years.

This is a high-visibility global leadership role with direct reporting into the GBU Leadership Team, offering both a compelling specialty care growth opportunity and a strong steppingstone toward future leadership roles.

Role Overview:

This high-profile Global Brand Lead is a newly created senior role within the Global Transplant Franchise. This individual will be responsible for leading the entire end to end SOT therapeutic area, strategy, P&L, and market, in preparation for our potential launches for new assets, leading to significant growth in portfolio.   Whilst maintaining profitable growth with in-line Thymoglobulin execution.  The role requires strong leadership stamina to lead the cross functional matrix as well as strengthen and expand our external networks with deep expertise in specialty care.  This is a high-visibility, cross-functional leadership role reporting to the SVP, global franchise head and will work in close collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Corporate Affairs, Digital, Regulatory, and regional commercial teams.

Main Responsibilities

A critical success factor for this role is the unique ability to operate with equal excellence at both the strategic, visionary leadership (Transform), whilst executing with operational excellence (Perform). This role demands a unique blend of strategic acumen and operational rigor and executive presence to turn innovative ideas into tangible impact.

Core strategic & operational Responsibilities

  • Executive level strategy build, end to end enterprise thinking turned into external impact

  • Lead the SOT growth strategy across all strategic pillars — portfolio strategy, brand planning, customer engagement, evidence generation, device/presentation, and lifecycle management — ensuring forward-looking strategies that maximize profitable franchise

  • Market Intelligence & Foresight: Demonstrate foresight and vision in tracking the evolution of the healthcare landscape, digital innovation, competitive dynamics, and evolving patient and customer needs; leverage deep global and local insights across the scientific, medical, and competitive environment to define strategies that anticipate market shifts

  • Market Access & Value Optimization: Define Access and Pricing Strategies in collaboration with Market Access and cross functional teams to maximize the value of new assets within a focused global footprint.

  • Financial Strategy & Planning: Lead financial planning within the Strategic Plan exercise — including top-line sales and OPEX — in close collaboration with local markets, Finance, and cross-functional partners.

  • Strategic Workforce Planning: Facilitate continuous Strategic Workforce Planning in collaboration with global P&C and cross-functional teams to ensure future capability needs are met in alignment with the Franchise Strategy across Digital, Medical, Commercial, Market Access, and Public Affairs

  • Global Integrated Strategy: Lead the integrated global brand strategy & launch plan for SOT pipeline assets, from strategy to activation plan by mobilizing the cross functional glocal team, applying SILC standards and ensuring alignment with the overall Transplant franchise vision

  • Communication strategy: translate evidence data into powerful communication platforms to support market shaping or brand differentiation on both indications.

  • Executive level presentations required to ensure influence, investment and buy-in.

  • Glocal Execution & Market Performance: Drive performance of key strategic markets to ensure delivery of financial goals through deep understanding of local market dynamics, rigorous monitoring of market Progress, and active collaboration in the development of local plans that translate global strategy into impactful local execution

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration and decision-making with local cross-functional teams (e.g. GBTs) to support implementation of the defined strategy across key strategic markets, enabling agile operational translation at the local level

  • Drive Performance: Ensure strategy execution and drive performance with a key focus on priority strategic markets, translating strategic imperatives into measurable commercial outcomes

  • Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate supply situations in alignment with Supply Chain and markets; provide clear recommendations in complex or ambiguous scenarios to safeguard continuity of patient access

  • Digital & Omnichannel Activation: Ensure global and local digital execution is aligned to the defined strategy, with agile adaptation in response to external market evolution; champion innovative approaches that proactively consider new market models and emerging technologies including AI-powered tools

About you

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree

  • Strongly Preferred: MBA or advanced degree with a focus on marketing, strategy, or a relevant discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of global or local market pharmaceutical commercial franchise experience required, preferably in a therapeutic area with complex scientific and competitive dynamics.  Prior Global and / or US experience preferred.

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership /people management experience is strongly preferred

  • Strategic marketing & commercial leadership skills demonstrated through brand strategy, portfolio expansion, launch, enterprise wide impact on top & bottom-line required

  • Financial & Business Operations Acumen: Demonstrated P&L management, Finance, or Business Operations experience with strong analytical skills and the ability to assess forecasts, manage budgets, and drive data-informed decisions is strongly preferred

  • Cross-Functional & Cross-Cultural Leadership: Proven experience working across functions and cultures, including close collaboration with Finance, Supply Chain, and Regulatory functions in matrixed global organizations

  • Digital Transformation: Track record of leading transformation toward innovative business models, implementing digital innovation, and driving new ways of working — including familiarity with GenAI tools and emerging digital capabilities strongly preferred

  • Therapeutic Area Knowledge: Medical, scientific, or local operational background in related therapeutic areas preferred

  • Travel up to 30% domestic and international required

Languages:

Excellent professional English language knowledge and skills required. French knowledge an asset.
