Job Description: Receives and ships out all finished products. Picks product to ship, stores product in the D.C. Drives forklifts and operates cranes for storage and retrieval of product. Also coordinates scheduling changes, directs workflow throughout the shift and gets involved with problem solving.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Loads finished goods into trailers in an efficient and timely manner.
2. Delivers pallets to loader in the proper truck when ready and assists in planning and calculating the load.
3. Ensures a balanced workflow within the team and throughout the shift
4. Assembles partial pallet orders and maintains pallet tag controls.
5. Ensures that the F.E.F.O. system is followed.
6. Stores and retrieves products using prescribed methods and standards.
7. Completes loading tally sheets.
8. Checks trailers prior to loading for wheel chocks, red tags, dock locks, and sanitation.
9. Assists with high rise crane errors and conveyor problems as needed.
10. Assists in taking inventory when necessary.
11. Cleans D.C. and maintains cleanliness of work area.
12. Maintains and strives to exceed safety, quality, and productivity standards set by plant.
13. Models the Springville Compass in all work-related activities.
14. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
1. Understand verbal and written instructions in English.
2. Must follow safety rules and procedures including the wearing of safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses where appropriate.
3. Must observe Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and USDA policies.
4. Must be able to add, subtract, and multiply.
5. Must have legible handwriting.
6. Must be able to work in a cold environment (-10 F. up to 1-hour periods) for a 10-hour shift.
8. Eighty percent of working day will be in the D.C.
9. Must be capable of safely operating forklift equipment.
10. Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
11. Detect and understand warning lights, buzzers, alarms, or instruments indicating hazardous conditions or circumstances which may cause equipment or product loss and physical harm.
12. Work every scheduled day and arrive at workstation at or before the scheduled starting time.
13. Communicate effectively with various support groups, supervisors, and team members.
14. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. up to a height of 6 feet.
15. Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. for up 8-10 hours per shift.
16. Must be able to transport oneself to, from, and around one's designated work area on concrete surfaces which are often uneven, wet, and slippery.
17. Must possess the ability to understand verbal and written safety and chemical handling instructions.
18. Develop and prepare necessary reports and maintain daily documentation.
19. Working knowledge of SAP and/or EWM.
