Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible to remove slugs and gaskets from waste material, stack, count, box and/or bag finished product.
  • Responsible to manually manipulate gasket away from scrap utilizing wooden plates with metal punch and hammers to tap out the gasket or waste product.
  • Responsible to prepare gaskets and metal stampings prior to shipment. Must count, pack and send product to shipping. 
  • Reads order for specifications, material, quantity and packaging specifications.
  • Selects proper tools for knock out when necessary, using safety equipment when needed.
  • Pick up sheets of material from pallet and place on work surface.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate package sealing machines.
  • Adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Setup and run spot welder.
  • Responsible to package product.
  • Complete required paperwork and reports.
  • Consistently meet expected production requirements.
  • Seeks assistance from experienced team members in any part of the packaging process.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Rotate with team members to assist with collecting gaskets at specific machines, picking up scrap for disposal from certain machines, or putting gaskets thru the ultraviolet curer in the beading room.
  • Participate in team activities such as Quality, Safety, Training and Attendance.
  • Responsible to utilize appropriate personal protective equipment including but not limited to hearing protection, safety glasses and gloves.
  • Participate in annual training required by departments such as safety and personnel.
  • Learn to complete all tasks in the classification in order to enhance work completion.
  • Ensure job specific safety procedure are established and followed.
  • Adhere to work, health and safety rules and regulations and procedures. Perform job tasks observations to detect and correct unsafe acts. 
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Highly motivated.
  • Strong time management and priorities management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to interact with vendors and internal customers.
