Job description

Title:                     Order Packer/Assembly             

Reports To:            Operations Manager

Classification:        Non-Exempt

Location:               Spring, TX Sigma Fasteners     

  • Produces finished assembly by assembling parts and subassemblies.
  • Positions or aligns component parts per instruction.
  • Conducts visual quality checks.
  • Ensures Quantity and Heat number match paperwork.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Follows specifications calling out correct box size per quantity and part size.
  • Utilizes ERP system as needed to report production and print labels.
  • Ensure correct positioning of labels on boxes / pallets and label accuracy.
  • Ensures job traveler and paperwork are correctly completed before turning in to MTR department.
  • Cleans and maintains work area.
  • Resolves assembly problems by notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains inventory by reporting overages and or shortages to supervisor.
  • Assist fellow employees with their workload when waiting for next order.
  • Team player flexible with needs of supervisor to complete daily workload.

Qualifications:

▪        Works well under pressure with the ability to listen, prioritize, follow instructions, trouble shoot and execute all tasks assigned.

▪        Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills

▪        Cooperates with immediate supervisor and Human Resources concerning all company policies, rules, regulations, and safety programs.

▪        Proper phone & email etiquette.

▪        Fast paced office environment

▪        Drug screen and background check.

▪        Flexibility regarding hours and scheduling

Education and/or Experience

▪        Experience in steel industry and dealing with mill certificates as well as ERP experience.

▪        Minimum education: High School Diploma/GED•Basic Computer Skills (MS Office, Email Software (Outlook, Excel, etc)

▪        Basic Math/ Chemistry
