Job Title: Packer

Job Description

The Packer prepares completed sheet metal products for shipment by ensuring they are packaged safely, accurately, and in full alignment with customer requirements. This role plays a key part in protecting product quality by preventing shipping damage and maintaining high standards for packaging, documentation, and shipment readiness in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow travelers, work instructions, work orders, packing lists, and packing specifications to ensure accurate shipment preparation.
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, and overall product quality prior to packing.
  • Perform detailed visual inspections to identify defects, damage, or cosmetic issues before products are packaged.
  • Package products using foam, cardboard, dunnage, padding, and other protective materials according to approved methods.
  • Apply labels accurately and ensure all customer-specific packaging and documentation requirements are met.
  • Complete all required paperwork and shipping documentation prior to shipment release.
  • Build and wrap pallets to secure products for transport and maintain shipment readiness.
  • Move materials safely using pallet equipment and support general material handling activities.
  • Perform minor touch-up, unmasking, and cleaning tasks as needed to meet quality standards.
  • Support shipping and receiving activities, including inventory and material handling tasks, as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe, orderly warehouse and manufacturing environment.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, travelers, work orders, and packing specifications with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail when verifying part numbers, quantities, labels, and overall product quality.
