Job description

Overview: The Supervisor is responsible for project execution, completion of paperwork, quality of service and customer satisfaction. The Supervisor may oversee more than one job in a given day or week by closely monitoring the work of the Foreman. In addition, the Supervisor will manage internal communications, job site safety and compliance. Responsible for performance of all assigned technicians, foreman, operators and/or drivers for the job. Authority to direct field personnel in the interest of the company.


Key Responsibilities:


Job Management

  • Clearly understand project scope, budget, work plan, safety plan and customers' expectations before commencing work each day.
  • Responsible for job preparation: bring the proper tools, equipment, and materials as identified in the Work Order and as individual experience & knowledge warrant
  • Have a full understanding of each piece of equipment assigned to the job and be capable of making minor repairs to that equipment in the field.
  • Fully comply with Strategic's SOPs and policy manual while requiring those assigned to his/her team to do the same.
  • Communicate real-time with the management such as the Project Manager with respect to changes in scope, budget, staffing, customers' expectations, safety, compliance and human resource-related issues.
  • Review worksheets completed by Foremen. Identify items not in accordance with the establish plan (i.e. time budgets exceeded, unauthorized assets, etc.) and resolve with the Foreman.
  • Approve all subcontractor/rental request from Foreman. Communicate to Operations Manager or Project Manager for purchase order approval.
  • Provide ongoing teaching, coaching and training to his/her staff.
  • Return all equipment to the shop in good order and notify management of equipment in need of maintenance/repair.
  • Be responsible for the completeness and quality of all paperwork associated with daily activities.
  • Confirm customer satisfaction before leaving the job site each day.


Health and Safety

  • Have a complete working knowledge of all safety procedures and be prepared to discuss job hazards each day at the Tailgate Safety Meeting; fill out Toolbox Talk form
  • Document any accident, injury, near-miss or H&S violation on the proper form. Immediately notify H&S of any accident or injury.

Project Scoping & Estimating

  • Visit assigned job sites to provide feedback and/or assistance in completing tasks.
  • Conduct job walks and affix a project scope and price estimate for the job owner to approve.

Education and/or Relative Work Experience:

  • Associates degree OR

  • Hydraulic license (preferred)
