Job description

Job Summary:

ITS, LLC is seeking a Battlespace Awareness Operator (BSA-E) – 24x7 Operations Support to join our team in Springfield, VA. The Battlespace Awareness Operator will support real-time space operations by delivering mission status updates, conducting anomaly investigations, and providing actionable decision support and Course of Action (COA) recommendations to senior leadership. This role operates in a dynamic, high-tempo 24/7 mission environment supporting critical national security objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a crew member supporting 24/7 operations in 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights).
  • Perform full-time, on-site operations at a Government customer facility in Springfield, VA.
  • Maintain battlespace awareness of space domain threats and monitor high-interest events impacting mission assets.
  • Execute established Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) to ensure operational continuity.
  • Conduct anomaly investigations and support mission response planning.
  • Operate analytical tools including Systems Tool Kit (STK) and other commercial or government-developed space analysis software.
  • Develop and support Courses of Action (COAs) for mission decision-making.
  • Accurately log daily operational activities, significant events, and anomalies in accordance with program procedures.
  • Prepare and deliver mission briefings and analytical products to senior leadership and enterprise stakeholders.
  • Support integration and operationalization of new tools, system enhancements, or mission capabilities.
  • Complete required pre-test, training, post-test, on-console evaluation, and certification board; achieve certification within 60 days of assignment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet evolving mission requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; OR
    • Master’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; OR
    • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Space Operations.
  • Familiarity with Orbital Mechanics principles.
  • At least 1 year of experience using astrodynamics tools such as STK, GMAT, and/or ODTK.
  • Strong situational awareness and ability to adapt to shifting operational priorities.
  • Effective communication and briefing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in 24/7 operational environments supporting national security missions.
  • Experience developing TTPs and mission-level COAs.
  • Experience supporting senior decision-makers in a real-time operational setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Education/Experience:

Level 3 experience supporting space operations or equivalent mission-critical operational environment.

Clearance Requirement:

Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph required.
