Job description

A global technology company is seeking a Data Platform Engineer (Oracle EBS Application DBA) for a full-time position based in Lincolnshire, IL (hybrid, 3 days onsite). The role sits within an internal IT organization responsible for maintaining and evolving a large-scale Oracle environment, including Oracle E-Business Suite (12.2.x), Oracle Database (19c RAC), and WebLogic on Linux. This position combines application DBA responsibilities with broader platform support across both on-premise and cloud-aligned systems.
This role is well suited for someone with a strong Oracle foundation who enjoys working in stable, production-focused environments while contributing to incremental improvements in architecture and automation. The team supports critical business systems and is gradually incorporating newer technologies, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code practices. It offers a mix of day-to-day operational work and participation in platform enhancements and ongoing projects. Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Oracle EBS / Application DBA roles
  • Strong experience with Oracle Database 19c (RAC) in Linux/Unix environments
  • Hands-on experience with installation, patching, backup/recovery, and performance tuning
  • Experience administering Oracle EBS 12.2.x (including upgrades and support)
  • Experience with Oracle WebLogic Server (installation, configuration, patching)
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting experience
  • Experience troubleshooting production systems and performing root cause analysis
  • Ability to work onsite in Lincolnshire, IL at least 3 days per week
