Data Warehouse Developer

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

The Southeast Permanente Medical Group (TSPMG) is one of Georgia's largest independent, physician-owned, multi-specialty medical groups. More than 700 physicians and 300 associate practitioners work together in a unique integrated care model to provide high-quality care to Kaiser Permanente members. Our focus is on long-term health through prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. Care is delivered across more than 40 specialties at medical offices throughout metro Atlanta.

The Business Intelligence team is seeking a Data Warehouse Developer to join our Data Warehouse & Data Architecture team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-to-mid career developer who enjoys solving complex problems, writing efficient code, and working with enterprise data solutions. In this role, you will help design, develop, and maintain ETL processes and SQL Server data warehouse solutions that support critical business intelligence and analytics across the organization.

Position Summary

The Data Warehouse Developer is responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining T-SQL code, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages, and ETL processes that support the organization's enterprise data warehouse. Working alongside experienced developers and architects, this role contributes to the design, loading, validation, and optimization of dimensional data models while continuously expanding technical expertise in SQL Server, ETL development, and data warehousing best practices.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, and maintain T-SQL stored procedures, functions, views, and other database objects.
  • Build and support SSIS packages that extract, transform, and load data into the enterprise data warehouse.
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes that support dimensional and fact table loading.
  • Troubleshoot data discrepancies, failed jobs, and application logic through systematic debugging and analysis.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following established development standards.
  • Perform thorough testing and validation prior to production deployments.
  • Participate in code reviews and collaborate with senior developers, BI analysts, and data architects.
  • Support scheduled production jobs and assist with troubleshooting routine ETL and data load issues.
  • Continuously build technical expertise in T-SQL, SSIS, dimensional modeling, and enterprise data warehousing.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant programming experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of hands‑on programming experience using modern programming or database programming languages.
  • Strong programming fundamentals, including logical problem‑solving, debugging, and analytical thinking.
  • Experience with at least one procedural database programming language such as T-SQL or PL/SQL, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn SQL development.
  • Understanding of programming concepts including conditionals, loops, functions, data types, and error handling.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality, thoroughly tested code.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with T-SQL, PL/SQL, or other relational database programming languages.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or other ETL platforms such as Informatica.
  • Experience developing enterprise data warehouse solutions.
  • Knowledge of dimensional (Kimball) data modeling methodologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or Databricks.
  • Experience with Power BI, including semantic model development.
  • Familiarity with version control and collaborative software development practices.
