Job description

Position: Data Center Technician

Location: Sterling, VA

Openings: 15

Shifts/Schedule: **getting clarification here from client** 24/7 Data Center Schedule - 6 AM to 6 PM

Day and night shifts available (rotating shifts possible)

Contract: 12+ month contract (strong potential to extend or convert for strong candidates)

OSHA 10 construction required (must already have or obtain before start)

Must Haves:

OSHA 10 construction certification (or willingness to obtain immediately)

Hands-on data center experience

Structured cabling experience (Cat5e/Cat6, fiber)

Experience installing, and testing copper and fiber cables

Ability to read and follow structured cabling drawings and labeling standards

Comfortable working in live data center environments

Basic troubleshooting experience for cabling and connectivity issues

Ability to work on ladders, lift equipment, and stand for long periods

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in large-scale or hyperscale data centers (Oracle, AWS, Google, Meta, etc.)

Familiarity with data center standards (TIA, BICSI best practices)

Previous work in colocation or enterprise data center environments

Day-To-Day:

Cable Installation: Pull and route cables throughout the facility, ensuring proper placement and secure connections.

Label and document cabling accurately.

Rack and Stack: Assemble and install network racks, panels, and related hardware according to layout specifications.

Technical Labor Support: Assist with general construction-related technical tasks, such as equipment setup, material handling, and site preparation. Troubleshoot connectivity and cabling issues.

Safety Compliance: Follow OSHA and site-specific safety guidelines, including PPE requirements and metal detector checks.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors and other technicians to meet daily production goals and maintain project timelines.
