Job description

VCG is looking for a senior application analyst for Oracle Cerner ESH/Core to support the following areas:

  • Leads Event Set Hierarchy (ESH) design and build activities 
  • Performs thorough Event Set Hierarchy impact analysis, when documentation/orders/results changes are requested. 
  • Provides Event Set Hierarchy specific effort estimates, when documentation/orders/results changes are requested. 
  • Ensures Event Set Hierarchy design and build adheres to Enterprise design principles and best practices. 
  • Provide expert knowledge of Core design and build during clinical design sessions 
  • Provides and engages in clinical design sessions with stakeholder teams across 3 health organizations and summarizes feedback for the working groups. 
  • Participates in and/or leads design sessions. 
  • Reviews workflows, operating procedures to identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Supports standardization of care practice and associated workflow processes across the care settings. 
  • Presents and prepares content and decisions to governance committees 
  • Works with the team to develop, review, and modify learning resources: reference documents; and manuals for team members and HO staff/providers. Ensure content reflected is most up-to- date. 
  • Provides phone support to staff/providers to troubleshoot and resolve any system issues and/or user difficulties experienced. 

May need to travel outside of Vancouver and within the province of British Columbia. Hours worked may vary depending on the phase of the project we are in, or if we need to stagger ESH build hours across ESH builders.

Required Skills:

  • Expert Knowledge of Event Set Hierarchy design, build, and implementation best practices 
  • Experience with Cerner front-end modules (e.g. PowerChart, FirstNet, PMOffice) 
  • Experience with Cerner troubleshooting and investigation
  • Expert knowledge of Cerner Core design and build – alias pools, locations, positions (privmaint, prefmaint), event set hierarchy (core event manager, bulk load), HNAuser
  • Expert Knowledge of Cerner build best practices
  • Ability to teach, demonstrates, facilitate, engage and lead in a classroom setting.
  • Proficiency with current computer applications and equipment
  • Able to develop educational materials.
