Job description

Oracle Application Express (APEX) Developer

Duration:             24 months, with a strong possibility of an extension.

Work Arrangement:         On-site work at the location stated above is required for an eight-week probationary period. After the probationary period, partial remote work (up to 50%) may be allowed.

Weekly Work Schedule: 40 hours per week during the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Occasional extended hours may be necessary by mutual agreement, e.g. Working weekends, past normal business hours.

Detailed Description of Engagement:

The Consultant will:

• Work under the guidance of the APEX Team Manager and Supervisor.

• Help OSC Management develop APEX Roadmap and Strategy.

• Contribute to the development and establishment of the APEX Operating Model.

• Assess OSC APEX methodologies, practices, and activities and advise APEX Team on how they can be improved.

• Evaluate business functions, analyze business requirements, and assess feasibility, impact, and/or implications of using APEX.

• Guide development of APEX designs that are scalable and meet business requirements.

• Help the APEX team to establish a robust APEX Security Model, including integration with Active Directory for authentication and authorization.

• Assist APEX developers with building shared components.

• Develop custom APEX applications.

• Prepare documentation associated with the development and implementation of new APEX applications.

• Perform quality assurance checks and post-implementation reviews.

• Collaborate and/or share knowledge with other staff in troubleshooting tasks.

• Keep management, APEX Team, and stakeholders fully informed on the status of work.

• Follow APEX industry best practices throughout the process.

• Hold Knowledge Transfer sessions with OSC Staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

1.            Three or more years of experience with using Oracle APEX software, with experience in Oracle APEX 17.x-21.x and Oracle Database 11g-21c.

2.            Three or more years of experience with Oracle APEX security, authentication, and authorization schemes.

3.            Three or more years of experience with Oracle APEX analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of forms, interactive reports, interactive grids, collections, graphs, dashboards, and generating reports.

4.            Three or more years of experience with JavaScript, JSON, Web Services, XML, HTML, and UI/UX.

5.            Three or more years of experience with designing, developing, testing, and documenting new applications and supporting/enhancing existing applications on the Oracle APEX platform.

6.            Three or more years of experience with migration of legacy applications to Oracle APEX.

7.            Four or more years in creation of dynamic reports in Oracle APEX environment using reporting tools (e.g., BI Publisher).

8.            Four or more years of experience with SQL and query performance tuning.

9.            Four or more years of experience with PL/SQL (procedures, functions, packages), cursors, triggers, collections, transactional modeling, database normalization, indexing methods, constraints, performance tuning, security, auditing, metadata management.

Preferred Qualifications:

1.            Strong communication skills.

2.            Ability to work well independently and in teams.

3.            Knowledge of application development principles and best practices.

4.            Familiarity with agile project methodologies.
