Job description

PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada's largest airport for the future of air travel-including critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.

Reporting to the Finance Manager within the PMO & Shared Services sub-program, the Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting the financial integrity, accounting operations, and reporting functions for PACT.


This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, performing balance sheet reconciliations, preparing HST filings, and ensuring strict compliance with joint venture (JV) agreements and accounting controls. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in Oracle Fusion ERP, construction project accounting experience, and the adaptability required to thrive in a multi-partner mega-project JV environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Support monthly and year-end financial close processes, ensuring strict adherence to reporting deadlines; prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries within Oracle Fusion; review and analyze project financial transactions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper cost allocation; assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, management reporting packages, and partner schedules; investigate, reconcile, and resolve accounting discrepancies and financial variances promptly.
  • Oracle Fusion ERP Administration & System Optimization: Act as a key user and subject matter expert for Oracle Fusion Financials, Project, and Reporting modules; support system configuration, testing, process enhancements, and the implementation of robust financial controls; maintain the chart of accounts, accounting rules, project cost structures, and cost allocation methodologies; collaborate with IT and Oracle business analysts to troubleshoot functionality and optimize workflows.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations & Project Accounting: Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all assigned accounts, ensuring complete supporting documentation; analyze and clear reconciling items on a timely basis; track and monitor project-related accruals, prepaid expenses, and specialized accounting schedules; support budget-to-actual variance analyses and rolling forecasting activities across sub-programs.
  • HST Compliance & Tax Administration: Prepare and submit monthly HST/GST tax filings accurately and on schedule; review tax treatment on vendor invoices, subcontractor progress claims, and customer billings to ensure compliance with federal and provincial tax regulations; assist with internal, external, and tax authority audit requirements.
  • Joint Venture & Governance Compliance: Assist in project cost allocations and joint venture billing support; prepare partner reporting packages in alignment with the JV partnership agreement; maintain strict adherence to internal controls, corporate accounting policies, and project procedures; participate in continuous improvement initiatives across financial reporting and project accounting functions.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. Active enrollment or progression toward a CPA designation is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 3 to 7 years of progressive accounting and financial analysis experience within construction, infrastructure, engineering, or large capital project environments.
  • Technical ERP Expertise: Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Financials, Project Accounting, and Reporting modules (Oracle ERP Cloud) is required; experience supporting ERP system configuration, testing, and process optimization is highly valued.
  • Accounting Proficiency: Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, accrual accounting, month-end close processes, construction project accounting, and Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting.
  • Tax Knowledge: Solid understanding of Canadian GST/HST regulations, tax application on construction contracts, and compliance requirements.
  • Software & Systems: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, financial modeling, Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with internal stakeholders, joint venture partner representatives, and external auditors.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with a proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.


The position will be based at our office in Mississauga, Ontario, with visits to the Airport site as required. Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday during regular office or site hours. At times, operational needs may require work outside these hours, with reasonable notice provided. All schedule or on call adjustments will comply with applicable employment standards legislation. It is mandatory for all employees to complete a Criminal Background check and successfully attain a Restricted Access Identity Card (RAIC) upon joining the company.


The expected compensation range for this role will vary depending on the incumbents relevant skills, experience and educational background. The range this role would fall into is between 75,000 and 110, 000 and is completely dependant on the selected candidates abilities to execute the duties described in this outline.
