12-Month LOCUM Contract for a General Dentist

Anchorage, Alaska

Part-time, fleixble

Primary Purpose of Position

There’s an energy and excitement here, a shared mission to improve the lives of others as well as your own. Optum Serve, formerly LHI, has been contracted by the Veterans Administration to manage the care for disability exam for Veterans. This direct patient care role will perform a comprehensive dental evaluation while thoroughly documenting the results.

This role is patient facing and requires working in a non-traditional clinical setting. It is also customer-facing with high expectations for operational excellence and maintaining strict infection control practices. Hours may vary based on location, patient volume, and business needs. This list of primary responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.

All Optum Serve on-site staff and contractors must be fully vaccinated per CDC guidelines.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform a complete and thorough comprehensive dental exam to include TMJ evaluation as needed and to collect current data on the potential disability. This is not an exam to recommend treatment.
  • Administer radiographs
  • Use required computer system to complete federal disability
  • Maintains infection control and blood borne pathogen standards
  • Maintains compliance with OptumServe and Federal, State, and Local regulatory, contractual, and organizational guidelines including HIPAA as outlined in training and policies/procedures, quality assurance and improvement processes

     

    • Work independently without the aid of an assistant

       

      Required Qualifications:

       

      • Dentistry Degree (DDS or DMD)
      • 2 years of dental experience
      • An active, unencumbered dental license in any of the 50 states.
      • Knowledge of dental diagnostic and treatment concepts taught in accredited US dental schools
      • Ability to work independently
      • Ability to communicate effectively
      • Proficient computer skills

        Preferred Qualifications:

         

      • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
      • Possesses strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, solve moderately complex problems while working both independently and collaboratively with others
      • Ability to organizes workload, sets priorities, complete assignments in a timely manner and utilizes resources appropriately while complying with organizational standards
      • Dedicated to building rapport with team members, patients, and the management team by demonstrating a strong customer service orientation and a continuous positive image of OptumServe
      • Demonstrates effective time management skills
