This Solution Sales Executive will be focused on expanding OptumInsight's growth within the pharmaceutical manufacturer market. The role is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities by promoting Optum's pharmacy connectivity, financial, data, and administrative solutions to pharmaceutical manufacturers.

This is a true hunter role, requiring an individual who thrives on developing executive relationships, creating new opportunities, building pipelines, and winning net-new business. Success will be measured by the ability to open doors, establish trusted client relationships, and drive revenue growth through new client acquisition.

This is a remote role open to candidates located within the United States. Up to 50% of travel is required based on business needs. All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prospect, develop, and close new pharmaceutical manufacturer clients, driving significant net-new revenue growth
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with prospective and current clients, acting as a trusted advisor and representative of Optum's value proposition
  • Create and execute strategic territory and account plans focused on new business development and market expansion
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and qualification through proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and business partners to align solutions with client needs and ensure seamless execution
  • Lead client presentations and solution demonstrations, tailoring messaging to executive and senior leadership audiences
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline and provide regular updates on sales activities, forecasts, and market trends
  • Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to generate new business opportunities
  • Stay informed on pharmaceutical manufacturer priorities, healthcare industry trends, and competitive market dynamics to support sales strategy
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales quotas and performance expectations in a fast-paced consultative sales environment

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in direct sales, business development, enterprise sales, or a related commercial role within the healthcare industry
  • Proven experience developing relationships and driving business growth with pharmaceutical manufacturers
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through close
  • Proven success prospecting, building pipeline, and closing net-new business opportunities
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding individual sales quotas
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with executive and senior-level stakeholders
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% based on business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience selling solutions, services, technology, data, financial, operational, or healthcare-related offerings to pharmaceutical manufacturers
  • Experience selling healthcare technology, software, data, analytics, connectivity, financial, or administrative solutions
  • Experience selling into retail-pharmacy, pharmacy technology, or related healthcare markets
  • Experience operating in a highly matrixed organization requires significant cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience presenting to C-suite executives and senior leadership teams
  • Demonstrated experience developing and leveraging relationships within pharmaceutical manufacturers to drive new business opportunities
  • Familiarity with OptumInsight's Pharmacy Network Solutions or similar healthcare technology solutions
  • Proven established relationships within pharmaceutical manufacturers

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $60,000 - $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. This role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
