Pharmacy Technician

This is a per diem position with no guaranteed or set schedule. The individual in this role will provide coverage as needed for planned and unplanned staff absences, including PTO, vacation, leave of absence, and other staffing needs. Flexibility and availability to work on an as-needed basis are essential.

About the Facility: Laurel Ridge Treatment Center is a 330-bed behavioral health hospital in San Antonio, Texas, providing mental health and substance use disorder treatment services for children, adolescents, adults, military personnel, veterans, and first responders. The facility offers inpatient, outpatient, and specialty behavioral health programs, including trauma-focused and dual-diagnosis treatment. With more than 40 years of service, Laurel Ridge is known for its comprehensive approach to care and its specialized programs supporting military and veteran populations. CPS Solutions-Optum has partnered with the hospital to manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions-Optum.

Pharmacy Hours: The pharmacy is open Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Processes physician drug orders including, but not limited to: order entry into dispensing computer system, appropriate product selection, labeling and repackaging, delegating product preparation activities to pharmacy technicians.
  • Consults with various health care professionals and provides information and guidance concerning drugs and their appropriate use.
  • Complies with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Assumes duties of Director of Pharmacy in his/her absence to manage daily departmental activities.
  • Participates in and/or provides support to hospital committees as agreed upon by committee members and the Director of Pharmacy to help establish drug-related policies, criteria, or to monitor issues related to drugs i.e. Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic reports on the progress of the department for submission to the administration of the hospital.
  • Assists the department and hospital in maintaining compliance with accreditation standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • ACPE - accredited PharmD degree (highly preferred) or BS of Pharmacy with recent pharmacist work experience.
  • Active State of Texas pharmacist license in good standing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualification:

  • Some hospital pharmacy work experience.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $44 - $79 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
