The Director of Pharmacy will lead all aspects of pharmacy operations, including planning, organizing, and supervising services in alignment with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with hospital leadership to implement innovative pharmacy practices, supported by proprietary CPS software, a dedicated support team including experts in operations, clinical, and regulatory as well as a CPS Area Director or Senior Vice President.
About the Facility: Laurel Ridge Treatment Center is a 330-bed behavioral health hospital in San Antonio, Texas, providing mental health and substance use disorder treatment services for children, adolescents, adults, military personnel, veterans, and first responders. The facility offers inpatient, outpatient, and specialty behavioral health programs, including trauma-focused and dual-diagnosis treatment. With more than 40 years of service, Laurel Ridge is known for its comprehensive approach to care and its specialized programs supporting military and veteran populations. CPS Solutions-Optum has partnered with the hospital to manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions-Optum.
Pharmacy Hours: The pharmacy is open Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all pharmacy services within a single hospital, aligning operations with the hospital's clinical, quality, and financial goals
  • Ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based medication use, overseeing clinical pharmacy practice, medication safety, and formulary management
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountability for pharmacy leadership and staff, including managers, pharmacists, technicians, and support teams
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and legal requirements, including Joint Commission, CMS, USP, BOP and state/federal laws
  • Oversee pharmacy financial performance, including budgeting, purchasing, contract management, and cost-containment initiatives
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and interdisciplinary stakeholders, supporting system-wide patient care, quality, and safety initiatives
  • Drive innovation, performance improvement, and strategic growth, leveraging data, technology, and best practices to advance pharmacy services

Required Qualifications:
  • ACPE-accredited PharmD degree or BS of Pharmacy
  • Active State of Texas pharmacist license in good standing
  • Management/supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Pharmacy management experience
  • Management experience in a healthcare/hospital environment

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
