The SVP & General Manager, Enterprise Imaging is accountable for the overall strategy, performance, and long-range growth of Optum's Enterprise Imaging business. This executive will operate as a highly accountable business unit GM with full P&L responsibility, leading a global imaging organization that operates across the U.S., Canada, Israel, and the U.K serving healthcare providers.

Enterprise Imaging is a mission-critical healthcare technology business centered on medical imaging platforms that operate as Class II medical devices and are deeply embedded in clinical workflows. The role requires specialized knowledge of medical imaging, radiology workflows, and the regulatory, operational, and clinical realities of imaging at scale.

This leader will be responsible for driving a cloud-first data and platform strategy that transitions the business from a legacy PACS footprint to a cloud-native, fully managed imaging platform. The SVP & GM will restore and maintain delivery credibility, protect and grow a large installed base, and create the foundation for faster innovation through embedded AI, real-world imaging data monetization, and future radiology managed services.

Reporting directly to the Optum Insight Provider Market CEO, this executive will partner closely with Optum Technology, Product, Data, Optum Health, and enterprise leaders to unlock differentiated value at the intersection of imaging technology, clinical workflow, data, and care delivery.  This role will also require significant work leading inorganic activities including partnerships, investments, and acquisitions and will work closely with corporate development.

You'llenjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. 

Hybrid in MN/DC: This position follows a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership for the Enterprise Imaging business, setting strategy, operating plans, and execution cadence aligned with Optum Insight Provider Market and enterprise priorities

  • Own full P&L accountability, including revenue growth, profitability, margin management, capital allocation, and long-range planning

  • Lead the transformation of Enterprise Imaging to a cloud-first, cloud-native platform, ensuring execution excellence under zero-downtime clinical requirements and Class II medical device regulatory standards

  • Restore and sustain customer trust through disciplined delivery, platform reliability, security, and operational excellence

  • Drive the modernization of the Stratus PACS and related imaging platforms, balancing near-term installed base protection with long-term platform scalability and innovation

  • Establish and execute a data and AI strategy that embeds AI directly into radiologist workflows, prioritizing usability, clinical adoption, and measurable productivity impact

  • Scale real-world imaging data capabilities, including governance, de-identification, secondary-use rights, and commercialization models in partnership with Optum Life Sciences and enterprise stakeholders

  • Define and incubate future growth adjacencies, including radiology managed services, in collaboration with Optum Health and care delivery assets

  • Lead a global organization spanning product management, engineering, clinical informatics, operations, sales, customer support, and delivery across multiple geographies

  • Operate effectively in a highly matrixed environment, partnering with Optum Technology, Product, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Cybersecurity, and People teams

  • Engage directly with senior health system executives, CIOs, CMIOs, and radiology leaders to shape long-term partnerships and enterprise imaging strategies

  • Guide competitive positioning in a market defined by clinical workflow performance, reliability, and cloud execution credibility rather than price alone

  • Drive operational rigor through clear metrics, milestones, and accountability across product delivery, customer outcomes, financial performance, and talent

  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing, diverse leadership team with strong succession planning and global talent pipelines

  • Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, clinical empathy, innovation, and continuous improvement

  • Serve as a key leader within Optum Insight, contributing to enterprise strategy, investment decisions, and long-range planning

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 15 years of progressive executive leadership experience with significant P&L responsibility in healthcare technology, medical imaging, or clinically embedded enterprise software businesses

  • 10 years of demonstrated financial acumen in building and running a P&L

  • Demonstrated expertise in medical imaging, radiology workflows, PACS, and the regulatory and operational requirements of Class II medical devices

  • Proven track record leading complex platform or infrastructure transformations, such as large-scale cloud migrations in mission-critical healthcare environments

  • Experience operating and scaling global teams across multiple geographies and delivery models

  • Solid strategic planning, execution, and change leadership capabilities in large, matrixed organizations

  • Deep understanding of healthcare provider markets, including health system economics, CIO-led buying dynamics, and clinician adoption drivers

  • Exceptional executive communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills with both technical and clinical audiences

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's Business Administration or other advanced degree

  • Experience leading imaging, diagnostics, or other clinician-facing healthcare technology platforms at enterprise scale

  • Background integrating AI, advanced analytics, and data platforms into clinical workflows

  • Experience monetizing healthcare data assets within regulatory and ethical frameworks

  • Prior experience working within Optum, UnitedHealth Group, or similarly complex, highly regulated healthcare enterprises

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $225,000-$375,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
