Optometrist – Per Diem/PT/FT Private Practice – Nantucket, MA- No Weekends! Highly Competitive Salary- Housing Assistance! $25K Sign-On Bonus!

A well-established private practice on Nantucket is seeking an Optometrist to join its team. As the island’s only full-time, year-round eyecare provider, this is a unique opportunity to practice full-scope, medically focused optometry in a dynamic and highly rewarding clinical environment.

If you’re familiar with Nantucket, you already know the appeal. If not—this coastal island sits 30 miles off Cape Cod and offers world-class beaches, exceptional dining, and unmatched opportunities for sailing and fishing. With a year-round population of approximately 20,000 that grows significantly during peak seasons, the demand for high-quality eyecare is constant and diverse.

About the Practice:
This busy, full-scope practice sees a wide range of pathology, including urgent and emergent eye care needs from the local hospital. Clinical variety is a given, and providers are able to fully utilize their training and skillset. The practice also has a growing glaucoma focus and co-manages surgical cases with specialists on Cape Cod.

The office is modern, spacious (2,500+ sq ft), and equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology, including:

  • OCT (Optovue Avanti) 
  • Visual Field Analyzer (HFA3) 
  • Optos imaging (California rg/af) 
  • IPL (Lumenis M22) and LipiFlow 
  • Digital slit lamps, pachymetry, B-scan, and more 

With over 6,000 patient visits annually and appointments booking months in advance, this is a high-demand, well-supported clinical setting with an experienced team of eight full-time staff members.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Interest in medical optometry and managing ocular disease 
  • Residency training preferred, but not required 
  • Open to mentoring new graduates
