Job description

ECN Purpose is seeking licensed optometrists to volunteer their time and talent to perform vision screenings and eye exams within our Orange County community. This volunteer position offers you an opportunity to bring vision care to underserved individuals within our community and to mentor those interested in pursuing a career in the vision care industry.

The ECN Purpose Mobile Eye Health Unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to deliver high-quality eye care to those in need. Optometrists are supported by optometric technicians, who receive training to volunteer with ECN Purpose.

Mobile eye care events are generally 3-4 hours in duration and are staffed by optometrists, optometric student technicians, and ECN Purpose personnel. Events vary in terms of the day of the week and time, and are held throughout Orange County. You have the flexibility to volunteer with ECN Purpose whenever your schedule allows - quarterly, semiannually, or annually.

Licensure is required. Onboarding includes a one-on-one tour of the ECN Purpose state-of-the-art Mobile Eye Health Unit, optical equipment, and walk through of event procedures.
