Job description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Front Desk Receptionist to join our busy ophthalmology practice. The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in creating a welcoming and efficient office environment. This position involves managing patient check-in and check-out, scheduling appointments, handling phone calls, and assisting with administrative tasks to support the clinical team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner

  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments

  • Answer and route incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries

  • Verify and update patient demographics, insurance information, and medical records

  • Collect co-pays, balances, and process payments

  • Assist patients with completing intake forms and necessary documentation

  • Coordinate patient flow with clinical staff to maintain an efficient schedule

  • Perform check-out procedures including scheduling follow-up visits and providing instructions

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations

  • Perform general administrative duties such as scanning, filing, and faxing documents

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
