Housed in a beautifully designed, modern setting equipped with cutting-edge optical technology, our clinic is dedicated to delivering elevated vision care and curated, high-quality eyewear. We pride ourselves on creating an inviting atmosphere where patients feel like valued guests and leave looking—and seeing—they're absolute best. At Kingston Optometry we want all our guests to See Beautifully!

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an energetic, style-conscious, and personable Optometric & Optical Sales Assistant to join our team. This can be either a Part-Time or Full-Time opportunity for the right candidate.

In this dynamic role, you will be a face of our practice—seamlessly blending top-tier customer service with optical frame styling and sales. You will guide patients through their full experience: from welcoming them into our bright, modern space and assisting with preliminary testing, to helping them select frames and lens packages that suit their personal style and vision needs.

If you have a flair for retail styling, love building genuine relationships, and thrive in an elegant clinical environment, we’d love to meet you!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Optical Sales & Styling

  • Frame Styling: Guide patients through frame selections, recommending styles, colors, and fits that complement their facial features, lifestyle, and prescription requirements.
  • Lens & Option Consultations: Educate patients on premium lens technology, coatings, tinting, and anti-reflective options with confidence and clarity.
  • Sales Excellence: Drive optical boutique sales by delivering tailored recommendations without high- pressure tactics, creating an effortless shopping experience.
  •  Dispensing & Adjustments: Perform precise frame fittings, custom adjustments, and minor repairs to ensure optimal patient comfort

Patient Engagement & Rapport

  •  First Impressions: Greet patients with genuine warmth as they enter our clinic, establishing an inviting, high-end boutique feel.
  •  Relationship Building: Get to know returning patients and families, creating a loyal patient base through attentive, empathetic care.
  •  Service Mindset: Address inquiries, manage patient concerns gracefully, and go above and beyond to deliver an unforgettable patient journey.

Optometric Clinical Support

  •  Pre-Testing: Perform preliminary diagnostic tests (autorefraction, tonometer, retinal imaging) with care and professionalism before the patient sees the optometrist.
  •  Contact Lens Support: Assist patients with contact lens insertions, removals, and care instructions.
  •  Practice Operations: Manage appointment scheduling, patient intake, frame inventory maintenance, and maintain a pristine, pristine optical showroom display.

WHAT YOU BRING

  •  Experience: Background in optical sales, luxury retail, high-end customer service, or optometric assisting is a plus. We will be happy to provide Optometric Assistant training to the right individual.
  •  Sales & Style Savvy: A keen eye for fashion, current frame trends, and a natural ability to connect features to benefits for optical sales.
  •  Exceptional Communication: Outstanding interpersonal skills with a warm, professional tone that effortlessly puts patients at ease.
  •  Attention to Detail: Precision in taking measurements, processing orders, and recording patient information accurately.
  •  Tech-Comfort: Comfortable learning diagnostic equipment and practice management software.
  •  Team Mindset: A positive, collaborative attitude that contributes to a joyful, high-performing clinic culture.
  • Initiative: Having the foresight to keep 1 step ahead! - anticipating patient needs & navigating potential issues before they occur, keeping the clinical day running smoothly.

WHY JOIN US?

  •  Environment: Work every day in a stylish, beautifully lit, modern facility with the latest technology.
  •  Perks & Benefits: Competitive compensation package, generous employee & family eyewear discounts, healthcare coverage and paid vacation available.
  •  Growth: Opportunities for ongoing training, optical education, and professional development.
  •  Culture: A supportive, tight-knit team where your ideas are valued and exceptional service is celebrated.
