About the Role
Join United Airlines' Network Planning and Optimization team as an Optimization Modeling Engineer. In this pivotal role, you will design, develop, and maintain advanced optimization models and C++ applications that shape key airline planning and operational strategies. Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain optimization models to support airline operations and network planning initiatives.
- Design and implement linear optimization and mathematical programming models to address complex business challenges.
- Build robust, production-grade software applications using C++.
- Integrate optimization models with IBM CPLEX and other industry-leading solvers.
- Analyze large datasets to translate business requirements into actionable quantitative models and decision-support tools.
- Support and maintain applications in Linux and cloud-based environments.
- Collaborate with operations research professionals, software engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful optimization solutions.
