Optimization Intern information

What is an optimization intern?

Optimization Interns are students or recent graduates who assist companies in improving processes, products, or systems through data analysis and problem-solving techniques. They typically work under the guidance of experienced analysts or engineers, using mathematical models, software tools, and optimization algorithms to identify areas for efficiency gains. Their responsibilities may include collecting and analyzing data, running simulations, and helping implement solutions that reduce costs or increase productivity. This role provides hands-on experience in fields like operations research, data science, and engineering.

What are some typical projects an optimization intern might work on, and how do they contribute to the overall success of the team?

As an Optimization Intern, you can expect to work on projects involving data analysis, process improvement, and the development of strategies to enhance efficiency or performance. These projects often require you to gather and analyze data, suggest actionable improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams such as engineering, marketing, or operations. Your contributions help identify bottlenecks, reduce costs, or improve product outcomes, making a direct impact on the company’s growth and success. Regular feedback from supervisors and teamwork are integral to your learning and the overall success of these initiatives.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an optimization intern, and why are they important?

To excel as an Optimization Intern, you typically need a background in mathematics, statistics, or engineering, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or MATLAB, optimization libraries, and data analysis tools is often required. Attention to detail, effective communication, and a collaborative mindset are crucial soft skills for interpreting data and working with teams. These abilities are essential for identifying process improvements, implementing solutions, and contributing to organizational efficiency.

Job description

Job Summary:

We're hiring a Marketing Assistant for a hands-on internship.

Job Description:

Are you looking to gain real-world experience in marketing? Are you a passionate, curious individual who enjoys brainstorming creative ways to reach new audiences-and who's genuinely excited about what AI can (and can't) do?

We're looking for a Marketing Intern to join our team this fall, and it's an exciting time to join. We're in the middle of transforming how our marketing team works by building agentic AI workflows into our core processes. Our current intern has already reshaped how we approach lead generation, content creation, and more-and we're looking to build on that momentum.

Here's the thing: everyone out there is claiming they "do AI." We're not interested in using AI just because someone says we should. We've thought critically about what can drive our business forward and have tested and experimented to find AI-first approaches that work. In this internship, you'll learn how to cut through the noise and how a mature organization meaningfully uses AI to generate business results. If that sounds like the kind of environment you want to learn in, keep reading.

As the Marketing Intern, you'll get hands-on experience contributing to every area of marketing, such as:

  • Agentic workflows: Building, maintaining, and optimizing the marketing AI agents we use for lead generation campaigns, social media content, blog content, and more-and helping us discover new use cases we haven't even thought of yet

  • Content marketing: Working with Subject Matter Experts on compelling content for our website and blog

  • Email marketing and account-based marketing: Assisting with campaigns that bring new leads to our business

  • Conferences and tradeshows: Assisting with logistical coordination for upcoming tradeshows

  • Analytics and reporting: Learning reporting best practices and getting a deeper look into how marketing metrics are measured and analyzed

You'll get invaluable experience that will help your future career. This is not an internship where you bring us remote coffee every day. You'll be hands-on in meetings, sharing ideas for campaigns. You'll work directly with our Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to bring new campaigns to light. And you'll learn techniques and skills-including practical, real-world AI fluency-that will set your career up for success.

If you're driven, curious, have high attention to detail (typos drive you nuts!), and are excited to start your marketing career, apply today and let us know why you'd be a great fit.

We know balancing an internship with a fall course load or other commitments isn't always easy, so we'll work with you to find hours and a schedule that fit. The minimum commitment is 15 hours per week, but if you're available for a full-time role, we can offer up to 40.

This internship is remote, or you can work out of our offices in Boston, MA; Aventura, FL; or Raleigh, NC.
