Job description

Optima Healthcare Insurance Services is looking for a detail-oriented, dependable Accounting Specialist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys accounting while also playing an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of a collaborative, growing organization.


This hybrid position offers the flexibility of working both in our Roseville office and remotely, while remaining an integral part of our close-knit team.


What You'll Do

As our Accounting Specialist, you'll support a variety of accounting and administrative functions, including:

  • Process accounts payable, including vendor invoices, claim payments, brokerage payments, employee expense reimbursements, and corporate credit card activity.
  • Process accounts receivable, record cash receipts and deposits, and maintain accurate accounting records.
  • Monitor daily banking activity and update cash books.
  • Assist with regulatory filings, audits, compliance documentation, year-end 1099 reporting, and other accounting projects.
  • Support general office operations, including vendor coordination, office supply ordering, mail processing, and special projects.
  • Help maintain organized accounting records while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance. 


What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A self-starter who works well independently while collaborating with others.
  • Comfortable identifying issues and solving problems proactively.
  • Professional with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experienced with accounting software and financial systems. 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Previous accounting experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple accounting functions in a professional office environment.
