Job Description We are seeking an Optical Test Engineer to join our display systems engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in optical testing, calibration, data analysis, and test automation and a proven ability to develop and execute test procedures, analyze results, and drive hardware quality. Responsibilities: Develop, execute, and document optical test and calibration procedures for display hardware, optical modules, and components.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define test and calibration requirements and ensure product quality. Analyze test data, troubleshoot issues, and provide feedback to design and manufacturing teams. Maintain and calibrate optical test equipment and ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards.

Prepare reports and present findings to stakeholders. Required Skills & Qualifications: Master's degree or equivalent experience in Optics, Optical Sciences, Optical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, or a similar field. 3+ years of experience in optical testing, measurement, and analysis in a hardware engineering environment.

Proficiency with optical test equipment such as spectroradiometers, photometers, colorimeters, and autocollimators. Ability to program test sequences, automate data collection and analysis, and perform image processing using Python, C#, or C++. Ability to perform statistical data analysis from large datasets and provide insights using JMP.

Familiarity with display or electronics manufacturing and build cycles for hardware product development. Ability to debug test sequences, optical prototypes, and electronics. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear documentation and proactive communication.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of color science, display calibration, and control algorithms. Experience with display and optics for AR/VR.

Experience with optical design or simulation tools such as Zemax or LightTools. Experience with opto-mechanical design tools such as Ansys, SolidWorks, or NX. Why BCforward?
