The ideal candidate has experience with Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) activities and understands the trade-offs required to achieve the right level of fidelity when modeling large scale, many-on-many missions. The role requires the individual to be proficient in distributed simulation technologies and well-versed in coding practices and software integration. This role requires collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team that is distributed across time zones. This role may require some travel to other US Raytheon sites. This roleโ€™s work responsibilities will be done primarily onsite in Sterling, VA, Richardson, TX, or McKinney, TX.

What You Will Do
  • Work on challenging problems across a broad portfolio of programs and products.
  • Develop Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) capabilities to support mission-level concept exploration, tactics development, autonomous behaviors, and Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) product development.
  • Develop simulators and emulators for sensors, communications, movement, tactical behaviors, weapon effects, electronic effects, command and control, and others.
  • Partner with product teams to accelerate the development of AI/ML and Mission Autonomy capabilities through modeling and simulation.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary subject matter experts to understand and simulate relevant sub-system, system and system-of-systems dynamics.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to newer engineers
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Experience in Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) engineering or related technical areas
  • Experience with compiled and scripted languages: C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.
  • Experience with simulation tools: AFSIM, MAK VR-Forces, Presagis, SIMDIS, OneSAF, etc.
  • Experience with configuration management tools and practices: Bitbucket, Confluence, Jira, Git, etc.
  • Experience with mentoring or leading individuals or small technical groups
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with GIS standards & tools (ESRi ArcGIS, Global Mapper, Cesium, CDB, etc.)
  • Experience with 3D modeling standards & tools (Blender, Creator, OpenFlight, etc.)
  • Experience integrating distributed Live, Virtual, & Constructive (LVC) simulation components
  • Experience designing and developing AI/ML systems and architectures
  • Experience with Unreal Engine or other computer graphics engines

The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
