Job description

Optical Sales Associate

Customer Service - Creates a pleasant experience for every patient to include smiling, welcoming body language, and attentiveness.

Sales - Presents services and products through educating, presenting, and interacting with all patients.

Examines written prescriptions to determine the specifications of lenses.

Recommends and advises on selection of eyeglass frames and lenses including selection of color, shape, and size after considering the prescription and the customer's occupation, habits, and facial features.

Instructs patients about adapting to, wearing, and caring for glasses.

Measures patient's eye, fit of frame and lens.

Verifies insurance information and authorization available for patients.

Ability to read and understand insurance benefits and explain to patients.

Receives collection of payment from patient for eyewear.

Follows procedures for processing glasses and contact lens orders.

Performs adjustments and repairs on glasses.

Dispenses eyewear using proper final fitting techniques and presentation.

Maintains frame boards and displays. Makes sure all holes are filled. All frames have a tag. Cleans frames and displays.

Creates optical reports needed from the practice management system.

Will be required to be flexible in regards to prepared schedule and working weekends.

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) (Required)

Experience: 1-3 years of experience in an optical office. (Preferred)
